Hey Brixians! This blog post will talk about the rest of 2024, and some of early 2025 for Brixus.
Brixus has made remarkable progress since its inception. The project officially began taking shape in August 2023, when the founders transitioned from their previous endeavor, Baratis, to focus on developing Brixus. The platform entered its alpha release in January 2024, with Treeified becoming the first non-admin user. Growth was initially slow, with only three users joining in the first three months. However, by April, the sandbox feature started gaining traction, leading to the creation of 145 accounts before registration was temporarily closed. Each of these accounts will play a role in future developments.
Although things were progressing well, Brixus faced a significant setback on June 3rd, an event many refer to as the “Great Nuke.” On that day, the Brixus server, Richard, was infected with the MEMZ malware; a trojan horse that gradually worsened over time. Unbeknownst to Brightastro, the malware advanced to its later stages and eventually wiped all of the Brixus data from the server. While the server Richard was recovered, the entirety of Brixus, apart from the Discord server, was lost.
Despite this major hurdle, Brixus was rebuilt and relaunched in August 2024, once again entering the alpha testing phase. Now, just over a month later, we find ourselves at an exciting new chapter.
With that look back at our journey, let’s turn our attention to the future and what lies ahead for Brixus.
Events
First and foremost, if you haven’t already seen the announcement in the Discord server, we’re excited to share that Brixus has reached a significant milestone with 75 registered accounts (now 80!), marking a key achievement for our community. As a result, we are pleased to confirm that a Halloween event will officially take place.
While the event is still in the early planning stages, our team is working hard to ensure it will be memorable. We are planning to introduce three or more exclusive, limited-time items that will be available only during this event and will never be offered again. These unique items will give players a chance to collect rare, one-of-a-kind rewards that commemorate this special occasion.
Stay tuned for further details as development progresses, and be sure to keep an eye on the Discord server for updates and sneak peeks as we get closer to the event launch.

Following the Halloween event, our next milestone will be reaching 150 users in preparation for the upcoming Christmas event. We anticipate that the Christmas event will be larger in scope compared to Halloween, featuring approximately six unique gift boxes that can be discovered throughout the map while assisting various residents. These gifts will open on Christmas Day, transforming into exclusive items for players to enjoy.
Although development on this event has not yet begun, as it is still three months away, we encourage you to stay tuned for further updates and sneak peeks, which will be shared in our Discord server.
Client Progress
You heard that right! A client is currently in development for the upcoming Halloween event. While there isn’t much to share at this stage, I do have two early screenshots provided by our developer, Trojan. More details will be revealed as progress continues:

While it may not seem like much now, this marks the beginning of an exciting future for Brixus. We’ll continue to keep you informed with a follow-up blog post on October 20th, one week prior to the Halloween event. Stay tuned for more updates!
New Item Type
A new category of shop items will be introduced, offering players an exciting expansion to the current selection. At present, we feature hats, faces, and shirts, but in 2025, we will introduce a new item type, inspired by Brick Hill tools, that brings more than just cosmetic value. These items will feature unique functionalities or gimmicks, offering players additional interactive elements that go beyond simple avatar customization.
For game creators, there will be the flexibility to manage these items within their games. A toggle option will allow creators to disable these items if they find them disruptive or inappropriate for their game environment. However, in certain cases, specific items may not be toggled off due to important gameplay or platform considerations. This addition aims to provide a richer, more dynamic experience while ensuring creators maintain control over how these new items interact within their games. What do you think these should be named? Let us know in Discord, or the blog comments.
I suppose that sums up roughly what’s to be expected. As i have said prior, there will be a follow-up post in a month. In there, I will further discuss more features and go in depth on the Halloween event.
Best Regards,
Gathalo
